Tell Minister Bishop to say yes to more homes in Wellington
Email the Minister and tell him why he should approve all of the councillors' amendments to the District Plan.
Last month, Wellington City councillors voted to change the zoning rules in Wellington and say yes more homes - amazing! This was the culmination of years of campaigning and public support.
But there is one last step: the Minister for Housing, Chris Bishop, needs to approve the council’s amendments.
Bishop has suggested publicly that he supports these amendments, but we need to give him one last little push. Let’s remind the minister that Wellingtonians support more housing, and will back him to approve all of the amendments.
We want you to email the Minister.
Tell him to say yes to Wellington City councillors’ pro-housing amendments.
Here’s an example email:

Subject: Yes to the Wellington District Plan amendments
Kia ora Minister,
I am a resident of Wellington, and am emailing you to ask that you please approve all of the pro-housing amendments councillors made to the Wellington District Plan last month.
I am in favour of these amendments, because [insert your reasons: affordability, climate change, healthier homes, less overcrowding, more housing choice, a vibrant city, transport options, more accessible dwellings].
You have my full support to approve the councillors’ amendments.
Ngā mihi nui,
— Marko, Eleanor and the City for People team.
